"An Alien Adventure" with the "Lost In Space Chariot"

Join Salem Arts in the Salem Haunted Happenings Grand Parade on Thursday October 5th

That's Right, Salem's Haunted Happenings Grand Parade just got GRANDER!!! We hope many of our members, families, and friends will join our parade group. It's Free and open to all!

All Salem Arts members, friends, and families are cordially invited to join us in the 22nd Annual Salem Chamber of Commerce Haunted Happenings Grand Parade on Thursday, October 5, 2017.

Our theme will be "An Alien Adventure". We ask that all who join in the fun of our group dress in your most inspired alien monster or space theme costumes. Be creative!

This year’s event will feature the theme “Movie Monsters”. This time honored kick off of the Halloween season is full of color, pageantry, music and the enthusiasm of thousands of Salem’s students from kindergarten to college and our local business owners.

Starting location will be Division 3, Position 10

Why a Space Theme?

Glad you asked! Salem Arts member John Antonellis, President of Elevator Interior Design, had the creativity and insight to build a full-size working replica of the famous "Chariot" vehicle from the classic TV series "Lost In Space". John, with his crew, will be joining us in the parade with the BIGGEST, BADDEST ATV ON THIS PLANET, OR ANY OTHER PLANET!

The Lost in Space Chariot

Last seen intact over 45 years ago on a 20th Century Fox backlot, the Chariot from the hit 1965 TV Show ‘Lost in Space’ is one of the most iconic Sci-Fi vehicles of all time and a favorite of fans all over the world.

The Chariot is a real, full sized, fully operational vehicle used to transport the Robinson family, Pilot Don West, the Robot and the troublesome Dr. Smith when they were (usually crashed) on a planet each week.

The Chariot has been faithfully re-created using the original 20th Century Fox blueprints and specifications by Salem Arts member John Antonellis and his company Elevator Interior Design in Lynn MA. Its one of the greatest examples of retro-futuristic design ever created.
