Studio: Little Harbor Studio and Gallery, 18 Doaks Ln Marblehead, MA 01945

Objective
Through my art I suggest a connection between the tonal qualities of both paintings and drawings and the different moods and atmospheres associated with each subject. Being a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a fine artist, I realize that sadness and beauty are often intertwined in life. In my artistic works I hope to capture the complexities of these emotions. I use my art as a medium for expression, reflection, and connection to the tapestry of life.

Artist Statement
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I bring a unique perspective to the world of art. Inspired by the evocative works of tonalist painters and the raw beauty of charcoal figure drawings, I translate my passion for mental health into captivating visual expressions.

In my art, I aim to convey the depths of emotional experiences, exploring the interplay between light and shadow, stillness and movement. Through tonalist techniques, I capture the subtle nuances of mood and atmosphere, inviting viewers to delve into introspection and reflection.

Charcoal figure drawings allow me to delve into the intricacies of the human form, reflecting the complexities of the mind and the stories it carries. With each stroke, I seek to capture the vulnerability, resilience, and interconnectedness of individuals, shedding light on the human condition.

My work is a testament to the profound impact of mental health on our lives. It serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy, understanding, and compassion in our society. Through my art, I hope to spark conversations, challenge preconceptions, and promote greater awareness and acceptance of mental health struggles.

Join me on this artistic journey as I merge my expertise in psychiatric care with my passion for visual storytelling. Let us explore the depths of the human psyche together, unveiling the beauty that lies within the shadows.
