Ditto Editions Fine Art Digital Printmakers will be hosting their final Spring SALON NIGHT on June 19, 2008.
Special guest Jeffrey Lipsky will share his experiences with the online virtual art world of Second Life®. Since 2003 this vehicle for selling art has grown explosively and today is used by millions from around the globe.
Lipsky (aka Filthy Fluno) will describe how artists are utilizing this media to set up galleries and expand their markets using social networking and creative alter egos called ‘avatars’. The Salon, beginning precisely at 6:30 PM, will be held at Ditto Editions,
Enterprise Center, 121 Loring Avenue, Suite 570, Salem, MA. For directions visit www.dittoeditions.com.
'The Marketplace’ component of Second Life® is a fascinating new way to market - and sell - art online,” explains Susan Fader of Ditto Editions. “I am confident that we are seeing just the beginning of how the internet will impact the artworld. Building a web site or being one of many on a .com art site is not effective for making sales. The virtual approach is a whole new opportunity that artists need to be aware of.”
Lipsky, an artist from Tyngsboro, MA, is the owner/director of CounterpART Gallery in Lowell. He creates and markets his original abstract drawings and paintings to international audiences within the online world of Second Life®.
