Come join us for "Book-Play", A workshop for Artists.
Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord is a well-known artist in the field of book art and has an international reputation for her commitment to the personal and educational value of simple bookmaking. Her twenty-plus years teaching children bookmaking have made her a clear and patient instructor. You can view her work at susangaylord.com.
Book-Play is bookmaking at its most friendly and accessible—no rulers or precious papers, no designing or planning ahead. The emphasis is on freedom and possibility—how the simplest forms can be adapted, varied, and combined to unlock our creative juices. Using recycled papers (which can include your sketches, practice pages, and work that didn't turn out the way you wanted but you haven’t had the heart to toss of any weight) and other materials, we make intimate books that fold and fan, hang and stand that can be used as mini-journals, gifts, cards, and ornaments.
Participants should bring paper and limited art materials (no wet media) And Susan Kapuscinski will provide everything else.
Spaces are Limited to only 14 attendees so be sure to REGISTER for this event.
